— Why Did I Choose to Become a Health Coach?
As many of you know, I suffered from Depression for close to 15 years before finally hitting rock bottom and deciding that something had to change. I embarked on a huge journey and basically overhauled my entire life. From what I ate, to exercising, to what I was thinking and beyond.
Somewhere in the middle of this journey, I was really becoming passionate about health and wellness. I was also realizing how unhappy I was in my work life. I had always bounced around with jobs in the hospitality industry. I worked in restaurants for many years and found this industry draining and completely unaligned with my introvert self. I craved a career and life path that excited me, that was meaningful and that provided freedom with time and scheduling. I had always known I wanted to be self employed, I just had no idea what kind of job I wanted to do.
In 2016 I was introduced to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and I got excited. I also got scared. I was 29 years old and thinking about going back to school and redirecting my life. It was terrifying. But I knew deep down how right this school felt. I enrolled in 2017 and embarked on a year of incredible transformation.
