Attention all garlic lovers! Have I got a great dip for you! This dip has a huge garlic flavour and has a nice tang from the feta cheese. Sticking to my usual theme, this garlic feta dip has a Greek yogurt base instead of mayo or sour cream – I combine with a light cream cheese and lots of feta cheese. Mixing this in a food processor makes this so creamy and smooth, and adding diced tomatoes on top just gives you a pop of freshness.
The beauty behind this dip is that it can easily be made ahead of time and popped into the fridge. Whenever you’re ready for it, finely dice your tomatoes and pile on top, and drizzle a little olive oil – that’s it, you’re ready to go! This would pair fantastic with a warm pita bread or a fresh baguette. Or if you want to stay away from the breads – it’s great with chopped fresh vegetables as well!
A food processor is fairly essential to this dish – I use a small one. It’s a 3 cup container which is enough for everything I use it for. Definitely a good investment as it makes combining things like this dip so quick and easy.
This dip is super versatile, you can use either fresh or dried herbs, which is handy if you just want to whip this up last minute. As I did the other day, I didn’t have any fresh herbs but it still tasted awesome. I would also recommend using a Roma tomato for topping as they tend to be a little less juicy which works out better. But really, any tomato will work and still taste great. I love it because you really can use what you have on hand for the most part and this will still turn out.
Garlic Feta Dip
- 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 6 oz feta cheese (3/4 cup)
- 4 oz light cream cheese (1/2 cup)
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic (large)
- 1/2 tsp dried dill
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp parsley
- 1 Roma tomato
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- pepper to taste
- Grate garlic into food processor.
- Add all other ingredients except tomato and mix until well combined and smooth.
- Finely dice tomato and pile on top.
- Add drizzle of olive oil to finish.
- Serve with anything! Fresh pita, baguette, tortilla chips, fresh vegetables.
